The back-end of a website or application is responsible for its functionality and performance. Back-end developers are the coding geniuses who make this happen.

Back-end developers need to have a strong foundation in computer science principles. In addition, they should have a good understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript – although they don’t necessarily need to be expert coders in these languages.

The most important qualities for any back-end developer are initiative, problem-solving skills, and the ability to learn new things quickly.
